Boutique hotels โ 5 Reasons why you should stay in one!

No matter which part of the world you travel to, where you stay makes a massive impact on your overall travel experience.
What are boutique hotels after all?
Many of you might have heard the term โBoutique hotelโ taking shape in the last couple of years (in India). Well, Boutique hotels are not the regular branded luxury chain of hotels we see almost everywhere. These are concept hotels built around the idea of a unique, wholesome experience. The term first found home back in the 1980โs in New York, where multi storied bungalowโs and apartments were being turned into artistic hotels focusing on giving their guests a taste of the cityโs culture and a unique experience altogether.
The concept of boutique hotels has taken over the Indian travel market recently. With almost all cities having their own versions of culture-centric holidays homes and boutique stays, guests are opting out of multi-chain hotels and opting in with more experience centric boutique hotels. I did the same before booking my Goa trip last month. I researched and stayed at the tamarind hotel, which has a very Greek themed design, offering a mini library, a family pool with an attached pool bar.
If youโre a gypsy soul, a wanderer or just a travel lover looking for offbeat options, a boutique hotel is a great option. Here are five reasons why you should skip the regular hotels for a character filled experience at a boutique hotel for your next vacay!
1. Interesting Architecture
No two boutique hotels are the same. Seriously. Each of them boasts a varied style of architecture. Most of these hotels opt for local architects or designers who are well accustomed with the local culture. Their design focuses on giving their guests a cultural feel, a home away from home. Most of the boutique hotels book a fascinating history, one you can share over-the-table conversations with the owners and the staff.

2. Chic Design
You wonโt find any outdated furnishings in their rooms. The intimacy of the chic design and the fact that most of these hotels are designed around varied concepts, adds to the thrill and excitement of staying in one.

3. Location
Most of the luxury chain digs are located centrally. Which is probably one of the biggest reasons for tourists around the world to stay in them. But boutique hotels are located in some of the most hip-like urban corners of the city. Just imagine waking up in an environment full of character spray painted walls, chic-like cafes, underground bars, and local restaurants, all at an arms distance? Yep! Thatโs what I am talking about.

4. The WOW-factor
If you have ever been to more than two boutique hotels, you would have observed how each of them would host at least one surprise element. I stayed at a boutique hotel in Copenhagen last winters, and they had the most gorgeous chic-themed terrace hideout with a barbeque in the centre and cozy fur rugs on each of their differently coloured and shaped couches. Not to brag about my stay, but god, the owner of the Boutique hotel had a hidden store with a massive collection of wines from across the world. You name the wine, and chances are she had it! (You are drooling, not me!).
Ummโฆ what was I talking about? Oh-yeah the WOW-Factor! Interesting art pieces, board games, hidden swimming pools, these hotels have something up their sleeve to make your stay memorable.

5. Personal Attention
Boutique hotels are built for a small number. They cater to limited guests at a time. With less than 50 rooms in store, these hotels aim at offering personal attention to all their inmates. The staff is familiarly engaged with their guests, pays personal attention to their preferences and caters customised service. Now who wouldnโt like an experience so home-worthy?

This was just a tiny listicle of the many reasons you should be opting for a boutique hotel for your next holiday.
