How to make friends on the road?

Posted on September 15, 2017February 7, 2018 by sakshi

This is one question I have been asked way too many times. How do you manage to make friends on the move? Well it’s easier than you may think and this isn’t subject to being an extrovert alone. No I am not a social butterfly or an extremely outgoing person in general and no it…

Why are we the best versions of ourselves when we travel?

Posted on September 13, 2017February 7, 2018 by sakshi

To explore the world is a gift in oneself. To be able to meet new people, share new experiences and grow with the world is something I never lose sight of. The feeling of being on a plane; walking that narrow street toward the cathedral; sky diving in the air of Switzerland; climbing one of…

The Road Less Traveled

Posted on September 22, 2016February 7, 2018 by sakshi

When you talk about travel plans, people expect you to speak of the mainstream hill stations or luxury travel destinations. But there is a very thin line between a tourist and a traveller. And I consider myself to fall in the latter. Travel is pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and keeping an open…

Keep looking To the window To the part Of the room Keep looking
To the window
To the part
Of the room
Where the light
Pours in.
For that is where
you'll be reminded
Again and again
No matter
What happens
The shadows
Cannot hold you.

I appear again, like these rare orange ombre cloud I appear again,
like these rare orange
ombre clouds
Oh, the beginnings
Of a new summer
Story vowed.

March is here
And so is
Summer
The leaves and
Winds and the sun
Become her

With all but a
hopeful heart
Tugged onto me
And if I vanish
Into thin air
You'll come to see,

That, I'll appear
again, with the
changing season
Another story
to say, and
Another reason

🎶There's a place I dream about Where the sun ne 🎶There's a place I dream about
Where the sun never goes out.
And the sky is deep and blue
Won't you take me there with you.

Shed our skin, let the sun shine in.
At the edge of the ocean
We can start over again 🎶

My playlist has always been a little different from the rest. Yeah, I enjoy commercial, hip hop, maybeee jazz sometimes, but this right here, the lyrics above is from an alternative/indie genre. Very mid 80's to mid 90's.
.
I started listening to this kinda music in 2017. And my playlist hasn't changed since. They are just so comforting. They are such good solitude songs.

What genre speaks to your soul?

Progress is simple. It is tough at first and makes you want to give up, but with a little willpower and some self-push, the result is worth the rough patch. Remember, we are only one decision away from a completely different life. What that decision's gonna be, that's upto you. If you won't try, you won't know what surprises the other side of the coin holds for you.
.
Ever since I started focusing on myself, my health, my fitness, this one quote has had me going every single day. I won't sugar-coat it, its not been easy. Juggling multiple things throughout the day, some days I just want to give up and lay in bed all day, and some others my motivation is sky-high. On some days I over-burden myself, but I tell myself, no more excuses! I want to see me change for the better. Feel better, boost my self-esteem and look fitter. So I know for sure, that the process is going to overwhelming, but the result is going to stun me even more.
.
So what are you working on today? An excuse? Or a step on the path to progress. Whether it's your physical health or mental health, your work or family life, you gotta put in the effort and I promise you, you're going to be GLAD!
